Hoops 4 Hope

HOOPS 4 HOPE (H4H) is thanking God for its 3rd Season. Thus far, in these three seasons, H4H has reached out and reached up to minister to from the Houston. Metropolitan Area.
On this past week, H4H finished the 2008 season. The season consisted of three weeks of skills development camp, league and tournament play, weekly team bible studies,-dunk contest much, much more.
Good Hope had 76 dynamic young people that participated with H4H. They entrusted our leadership and knowledge to guide them through the season.
Over 30 youth gave or rededicated their life to Christ, and some youth requested to be baptized.

The time has come!On WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 20, 2008, we will kick off the Workshop Teaching Series of "Worship Renewal from the Parking Lot to the Pew." ALL MEMBERS of the Worship Arts Ministry are required to attend. Music, Dance, Drama, Media, Ushers, Greeters, Signs of Hope, Prayer, Parking and additionally the Deacons, Christian Workers, Hospitality, Bookstore and Guest Relations Ministry. Dinner will be available for a nominal fee of $5 at 6:00 PM. Registration will be from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Class will begin at 6:45 PM. The class will be taught by Pastor Cofield. See you there!
SENIOR ADULT MINISTRY - Calling all Seniors (55+). You are invited to attend the S.A.M. Senior Fest on Saturday, August 23rd at 10:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall. Join us for a bible lesson taught by Bro. Willie Wright, health tips by Dr. John Codwell, III, door prizes and a fellowship lunch. Please be present and share the love of God with S.A.M.
Women of Good Hope, our girls need you! If you are a woman interested in ministering to the teenage girls that attend our Crossover program, an orientation and planning meeting is scheduled for Friday, August, 22nd at 7:00 PM. Titus 2 encourages the older to teach the younger the practical things of life. can serve our Lord by helping the next generation be a regenerated one.

AWANA: We are registering children from ages 2 - 12 (6th grade) to participate in the Good Hope Awana Clubs.The Fall session of Awana starts Wednesday, September 24th ends December 17th.The Spring session begins January 14th and ends March 11th. Registration cost is $45 which covers both sessions. We are in need of adult leaders to work with Puggles, Cubbies, Sparks and Truth & Training clubbers. Stop by the registration table if you are interested in volunteering.
GHMBC WELLNESS MINISTRY: We are calling all healthcare professionals, social workers, nutritionists, trainers, health and gym teachers, to join us as we launch this new ministry. Our goal is to educate and challenge God's people according to biblical principles on healthier approaches to living. We will sponsor churchwide activities and instruction throughout the year addressing preventative and life altering practices to strengthen God's soldiers. THE GOOD HOPE SINGLE’S MINISTRY invites all singles, all ages to join us in our 1st Monthly Study Discussion, "Let’s Talk: Spiritual Warfare." Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at 7:00 PM in Room 203.
The Small Group Ministry is expanding and we need YOU as a new leader. There are 6 areas in the Greater Houston Metroplex that are really in need of a small group leader. the Medical Center area (Astrodome), West Houston (Westchase), Pearland, Katy, Stafford/Sugar Land and Hobby Airport area. God may be calling you for this Ministry. Training and start-up assistance is available. There are only 2 requirements: 1) a heart for God and 2) a desire to Fellowship with believers while learning God’s word. BIBLICAL COUNSELING COURSE - FALL SEMESTER
Would you like to learn a biblical approach to resolving problems and the correct attitude and response toward life’s difficult circumstances? The Church Training Institute of Houston (CTI-H) is offering a Fall class, Biblical Counseling 101 Self Counseling. It is a 10 week course to teach you the skills and methods necessary for self-counseling or to begin your development as an effective Biblical Counselor.
